June 9th and 10th.
Well, a deal is a deal, even if it's made with a 4 year old!!
After many ventures to WalMart, and Dylan taking note of all the fun things that he didn't have....and several mentions of how he would love to have a Power Wheels Mustang.
He finally mentioned it one last time... "Mom, I like those!"
And even though he wasn't even asking for it, or even acting like it was any big thing...me and Trav made the decision on the spot, that when Trav found a new job we would get them each one.
This is the night we got them, and Dylan was lucky enough to come down during the final stages of assembly.
So he got a little (and I mean LITTLE) test drive, in the confined spaces of the family room.
The following day, we took them out for a spin.
The kids drove up and down the street a little, and then we took them for a ride to the park.
It took a lot of coaxing to get Kaitlyn to go though.
She really just wanted to go to the "Play park".
I asked "Are you gonna ride your 4 wheeler?"
Kaitlyn "No Mom"
I said "Then we aren't going to the park"
Finally: We got her to agree, and besides being terrified for about half the trip, she did have some fun.
This is her crying, that she was scared.
So I'm sure you are wondering...
Didn't you say Mustangs??
Well unfortunately when we finally got to go shopping for these, they didn't have the pink and red mustangs that they had their eye's on.
We were so sad for them, but told Dylan we could look some more, or there were a few other things that he could get instead.
Since he wanted something so much, he settled for these super cute 4 wheelers.
I am relieved that he opted for these though, because as an afterthought; I think he totally can have more fun on them, than he could in the smaller Mustangs.
Mind you, we had to go to TWO different stores, talk to sales associates, wait around while they called another store, check the stock, have the item held, run around like crazy, and after all that; Travis's debit card got a hold on it from the bank, because of unusual excessive use in one day! haha
Needless to say, watching the kids (at least Dylan) play on it, has been well worth the trouble, and I'm sure he'd agree; the wait!
Several weeks before we were able to get them...
Dylan came to me in the kitchen.
He said "Mom, I don't think Dad wants a job very much!".
I said "How come?"
He said "Because he doesn't have a new one yet!"
I said "Bud, he does want a new job, really bad, so do we (for him)!"
He said "Why doesn't he have it yet?"
I said "It just takes time!"
He said "I really want that Mustang!"
I had to chuckle, I said "I know you do!"
Kids are so funny!
And Trav, I know you were upset that he had to wait so long, but I KNOW that he is so happy that he doesn't even know what to do with himself.
And I love you tons, we all do; you are wonderful!!
Thanks for working so hard!!!!!!!!!
