It felt so good to get in the cold water, and relax;
not feeling the blistering heat beating down on us as much.

All in all we had a great time.  It took us about 3 hours to get to a location that was at most an hour and a half away (roughly).  We took the scenic route, then got lost up the mountain, but it was an adventure for sure.  When we finally got there it was nice to get settled in.

The auction was fun, but before we could finish everyone was getting restless. It was so hot out there, and the kids were all running around having a hay-day; it was hard for the adults to keep focused. 

Dinner was amazing, pulled pork sandwhiches, and soooo many salads you couldn't decide on, corn on the cob, chips, hot dogs.... too many choices. 

It was so nice to get away for the night, and spend time with the family.  It's been too long since we took a break, even if it was only for one night.

The kids had a grand old time running through the forest.  We had to remind them to stay within site of us.  They haven't been so dirty in a long time.  *I wonder if we'll ever get all the dirt out of and off their shoes.* 
Come to find out, after we left on Sunday; Wednesday night there was a whole big mess up there...  There was a bear running amuck, and there were hundreds of people sent out of the campgrounds on Wednesday.  The bear refused to leave the people alone, and reportedly was pushing on cars, rocking them.  They couldn't get it to go away, and finally had to shoot it.  Luckily we left before all this happened, otherwise it would have been in the area we had been camping. So crazy how things work out sometimes.
