Strike, Spare, Gutter Ball? 9/6/10

For Labor Day Weekend, we hadn't really planned anything since Trav worked most of it.
But on Monday, we decided to do something as a family.
We had briefly discussed going to the usual kids movie, but there weren't any playing that time would work for us.
SOOOO
as a spur of the moment thing, we shot down to Fat Cats Fun Center, and decided to play a few games of bowling.

It's been a really long time since Trav and I have gone, and neither of our kids have ever even been.
We didn't tell them where we were going, or what we were doing, so they asked all the way there "Where are we going?  What are we doing?" OF COURSE, as kids will do.  We would just say "You'll see".

So we got there, and they were happy just being in the parking lot, seeing the cool things outside of the building.  You know colorful signs, and crazy lights.
So we start walking in, and there are pins in the window; Dylan for sure spots them and points them out.  So we continue walking in...and head to the counter. Of course they aren't tall enough to see the actual bowling lanes, so they are amazed and awed by the arcade games and pool tables right off the bat.  Then I say "Dylan come here!" and lift him up.  He looks over to the lanes and says "BOWLING?!?!" All sorta perplexed like.  It was so funny!
We smile and say "Does that sound like fun?" of course his answer is yes, and he's super excited.   And we all turn to Kaitlyn who is equally excited about it.  Neither of them can wait.

So we finally get the shoes and lanes and all figured out and tell them come on.  We get over there, and get ready to play...
Kaitlyn decides she doesn't like how loud and noisy it is. So she's freaking out at the table.  We tell her it's her turn, and she says "No, No!" and starts crying.  I haul her little butt over there completely against her will anyways, and show her how to do it.  Then proceed to tell her "It's fun to be NOISY", and she looks at me all confused.  Then she finally eases up, and comes over and shoves the ball off the ramp.  She says all proudly "It's fun to be noisy!".

Dylan and Kaitlyn quickly picked up on it, and they both really enjoyed going bowling.
Dylan was even like a pro.  Regardless of having bumpers and a ramp, he was throwing the balls down the lanes all by himself (no ramp or any help from us), and ya know, for being so small, he sure could throw that thing.  There were so many times that it went right down the middle!
They even beat Mom and Dad on the first game.
Kaitlyn 102
Dylan 101
Travis 96
Jenni 68
Watch that ball roll, how many pins will fall down?

Great job, watch her go!

Watching and waiting.
Thought it was so cute how they were standing there together.

Great throw, watching to not step over that line.
*Even though he did a time or two, it was fun watching him scurry.*

Having so much FUN!!

What a great time!!
*Dylan excitedly pointing at the lanes.*

Just finished a turn.

Look at him go.  Great seeing him in action.
