INTRODUCING....

DYLAN'S NEW ROOM
We finished painting his room in the basement at the end of May.
He officially Moved in May 29th.
Until the past few weeks, we hadn't really decorated it though; even though he's been living in there since it was painted.
He was getting really antsy about why I was working in the girl's two rooms, but hadn't done anything to his.
I really hadn't decided what I was doing in there, so I hadn't made as much effort.  Then I finally had this idea to make ROBOT wall art.
Then I just got it done.  He was really happy that he finally had things on the walls, and shelves that he could put things on.
There are 3 gray walls, and 1 red wall.
These are the shelves I transformed from a little set of nesting trays.
The red wall at the head of the bed.
We got him his new bedding after I took the pictures, so this doesn't match the color scheme the way I intended.
His new bedspread is a "mature" bed set, that he can grow into in the years to come. It's decked out in plaid, in black, grays and red. I love the end result.
The bedspread is where the whole room was inspired from.
Here are the vinyl ROBOT art that I made.
He was really excited about them, and sat in the scrap room with me while I was making them.  And also provided CRITICAL feedback on what to use for the eyes.  In the end we hammered brads into the canvas'.
And last but not least his D picture holder, and the new magnet board that he couldn't wait to use.
We are so glad that he likes his new room, although does NOT like to go up and down the stairs when we tell him to put stuff away or change clothes.
He will have to get over it though, it's his room for the long haul!!
HA HA
And besides we think he sleeps better down there, since it's more dark, and less distractions.
(Except when Mom/Dad watch a movie with the surround sound on...*shhhh I blame DAD.)
